- Peryton Publishing: This
is a publishing venture I'm working on with Tom Loney. The current plan is
to put out zines, online offerings, game supplements, and whatever else occurs
to us.
- Its Own Place: Introduction to a finished story,
now being incessantly tinkered with. It's about isolation and self-annihilation.
It's also a fun tour (for me anyway) of the insanely complicated rules of
ceremonial magic (as described in medieval grimoires). And of course it's
got scary monsters. The title is a reference to Paradise Lost.
- Kasmordo's Apprentice: Intro to a medieval fantasy
story. I built this setting around my desire to get more of a lonely village
flavor, with magic that seems scary and... well... magical, instead of flashy
and comic-book-ish. I also have been wanting to do a story about this character
for a long time. I have a thing for mad scientist/occultist types, and with
Ezren there's a twist to it (not that you'll see from the intro, of course).
This was very loosely based on characters from The
Knights of Grog's.
- Ashen: This story was the bastard child of "Kasmordo's
Apprentice" and another plot that I never fully developed. It imposes
a similar mythic past over a small town in modern-day Arkansas. This one has
loftier intentions, so it probably won't be as good. It goes into the nature
of demons and the human soul and funny stuff like that. It's also kind of
an upside-down love story.
